Interview: Sylvia Lancaster and Sally Carman
In 2007, 20 year old Sophie Lancaster was brutally attacked in a Lancashire park because of the way she looked. After 13 days in hospital, Sophie sadly lost her life. After her daughter’s death, Sylvia Lancaster bravely set up a foundation in her daughter’s name aiming to prevent others from suffering like Sophie.
Now, Sylvia helps Coronation Street as they tell the story of hate crime on the Cobbles. We are joined by Sylivia and Corrie’s Sally Carman, as they tell us how this hard hitting storyline hopes to raise awareness of those who suffer for being different.
