Picture Preview: Maddie kisses Sophie
Sophie is left gobsmacked by a shock kiss from feisty Maddie next week on Corrie.
Amy Kelly, who plays Maddie, said: "Just before Maddie kisses Sophie, she’s really angry at her for sticking her nose in. It looks like Maddie is going to lose it and end up hitting Sophie, but instead she kisses her."
The kiss is extremely unexpected. She tells Sophie afterwards that she did it because she felt like it, and I think that’s the truth.
When Sophie puts the pieces together and realises that Maddie was behind the break-in at No.6, she goes to the shelter to confront her about it.
But when Maddie flirts with her, Sophie's resolve is quickly softened.
Amy said: "Maddie's impressed by Sophie’s cunning and her fearlessness. There’s a power struggle between them and that becomes evident when Sophie tricks Maddie into giving her the watch.
"Maddie is flirty with Sophie when she starts to think that Sophie might have feelings for her. It’s only when they start to get to know one another and Maddie starts to let Sophie in a little bit that they both realise there could be something bigger between them."
The next time Sophie sees Maddie she notices that she has bruises on her face. And when she presses her about her home life, Maddie rails at her.
But to Sophie's surprise, Maddie's angry outburst turns into a passionate kiss.
Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie, said: "It all happens so quickly and because Maddie is not very good at talking about her feelings or opening up, she just runs away. It’s very confusing for Sophie."
"Sophie's not shocked in a bad way, she’s more shocked in a way that she wanted Maddie to kiss her but wasn’t really expecting it."
