The Grimshaw family arrive on The Street back in 2001...And Todd soon has his first romance with school friend Candice...But when Candice's friend Sarah Platt arranges to meet a boy she's been talking to on the internet, TJ, they're shocked to discover it's actually Todd...After a number of break-ups and make-ups, Todd and teen mum Sarah decide to declare their love to each other in 2003But Eileen is livid to discover that academic Todd isn't taking his exams, blaming Sarah for his decision...In 2004, Sarah falls pregnant with Todd's child...But Todd also falls... firstly for Sarah's brother Nick and then for nurse Karl FosterAs their attraction develops into an affair, Karl becomes frustrated with Todd's reluctance to confess his sexuality to Sarah...And when friend Katy uncovers Todd's secret she gives him an ultimatum - tell Sarah or she will...With Katy's threat ringing in his ears, Todd confesses his sexuality to Sarah...Tensions escalate between the Platts and the Grimshaws when Sarah goes into premature labour, losing the baby only 24 hours after birth...And when Todd catches his ex Sarah and brother Jason in bed together he flies off the handle...In the aftermath, Todd moves to London and tells Sarah he hopes she finds someone who loved her as much as he did...In 2007, Todd returns to the street for Sarah and Jason's wedding, and is greeted by his mum's open arms...But not everyone is pleased to see him. It quickly transpires that David was behind Todd's invite, having forged Jason's handwriting...Todd and Sarah eventually agree to lay the past to rest, with Todd attending the wedding before heading back to London...Todd makes a brief return to the cobbles in 2011 with boyfriend Jools. He doesn't stick around for long, but does manage to squeeze in a run-in with Gail...
