Tordoff to step away from BTCC
Sam Tordoff has announced that he will not be racing in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship next season.
Tordoff has spent the last four seasons in the BTCC, after winning the Renault Clio Cup, racing first for MG and most recently two seasons in the JCT600 BMW.
The Yorkshire driver, who finished as runner up in 2016, made the announcement on his Twitter account this afternoon.
Tordoff's decision is possibly not surprising. In an ITV feature filmed in the week leading up to this year's season finale, he talked about the possibility of retiring at the end of the season:
