Tordoff takes Croft pole
Sam Tordoff has followed up his vicory at Oulton Park with a pole position in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, with a stunning lap around the Croft circuit in North Yorkshire.
Tordoff, who considers Croft his local circuit, and team-mate Andy Priaulx were the only drivers to set lap times below 1 minute 24 seconds during the qualifying session, with the pole time being a 1:23.886.
Gordon Shedden was third fastest, ahead of the third BMW of Rob Collard.
Reigning champion Colin Turkington, a multiple winner at Croft, will start on the third row of the grid, alongside Matt Neal. Current championship leader Jason Plato was only 12th fastest, just ahead of Tom Ingram who had been a front-runner in this morning's practice sessions.
BTCC debutants Max Coates and Nic Hamiton were 28th and 29th fastest.
