Times tumble in second practice

A drying track led to faster lap times in the final free practice session before the cars head out for qualifying this afternoon.

Colin Turkington was fastest, as all 27 cars headed out on track for the first time together.

The BMR driver set a fastest time of 48.940, just six hundredths of a second ahead of BMW's Andy Priaulx.

Aron Smith was third fastest, with Jason Plato fourth and Sam Tordoff, who had led much of the session, in fifth.

Tom Ingram, who was fastest in the first session this morning, could only manage fifteenth in the lunchtime session, but only one second separated the top 17 drivers.

Despite damp conditions, the session was uninterrupted by red flags, however Team BMR's Warren Scott went off at Paddock Hill Bend after the chequered flag was shown at the end of practice.
