Priaulx looking forward to the challenge of a BTCC return

Unveiling his BMW BTCC challenger for 2015, three time World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx says he's relishing the challenge facing him this year.

"I had a stonking year in America last year," he said, "and I'm really confident I'm going to have a good season this season. It's a new team to work with and you always go trhough growing pains but I think we have a good foundation for the long term.

Andy Priaulx takes the covers off his new BTCC car.

I've been away from British motorsport for 14 years, so it will be a challenge. The racing I saw (in the BTCC) last year, at Silverstone and Brands, wrapping up the championship, and the tension, that's what i love and that's what I miss.

"Touring cars is a constant upward fight," he added. "I really miss the close proximity of rubbing and touching and love taps."

Priaulx, and new boss Dick Bennetts, took the covers off the IHG-sponsored car for the first time on the stage at the NEC in Birmingham this morning.

"This is the first time I've seen the car and I think it's fantastic. These guys have been a sponsor of mine for 7 or 8 seasons now and I think the car looks lovely.

"I don't think I'm going to test it for a month or so, so it's going to be straight in at the deep end, but it's a good package, as the guys proved last year, so I have to step up.
