Plato storms to pole
Jason Plato has produced the goods yet again in a quite breath taking qualifying session at Brands Hatch.
Starting in wet conditions the circuit continued to dry throughout the running and Plato timed it perfectly as the championship contender clocked his benchmark lap shortly before red flags ended the session with just over two minutes remaining.
A number of drivers were on quicker laps but it simply wasn’t to be as Dave Newsham lost control of his AmD Ford Focus at Sheene Curve, leaving his machine beached in a dangerous position.
MG KX Clubcard Fuel Save’s Sam Tordoff and Honda Yuasa Racing’s Gordon Shedden will line-up second and third for tomorrows opener, whilst championship leader was ‘ecstatic’ to have secured fourth on the grid.
