Plato smashes Snetterton record to lead second practice
Jason Plato has smashed the lap record at the Snetterton 300 circuit by half a second to set the pace in the second of today's Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship free practice sessions.
His time of 1:56.197 was also more than a second faster than anyone else on track, with the next twelve cars covered by another one second. However it won't be recorded as the fastest ever, as official lap records can only be set in qualifying on the race.
Newly married Colin Turkington was second fastest ahead of Adam Morgan, Mat Jackson and Jack Goff.
Reigning champion Andrew Jordan missed the session. He's undergoing precautionary checks in hospital after a heavy crash at Riches which caised the first free practice session to be stopped this morning.
