Foster announces BTCC retirement
Nick Foster has annouced he won't be back in the BTCC this season, and is retiring from racing in the category.
The 49-year-old has spent the last four seasons with eBay Motors-sponsored West Surrey Racing, after initially saying he saw the BTCC as a three year project.
With the WSR team set to announce a new title sponsor, and the second of its 2015 drivers, tomorrow, Foster announced the news in a statement this afternoon.
“After four great years of racing in the BTCC series I would like to confirm my retirement.
“It has been great to be involved in what is the UK’s premier racing series especially with Dick Bennetts WSR squad, who are without doubt one of the most professional and dedicated teams on the grid.
“It has been great to drive alongside some of the best talents on the grid including the 2014 champion Colin Turkington.
“A special thanks to Rob Collard who has been my team mate since entering the series with whom I have enjoyed some great racing and fun times. Finally, after four years going round in circles I appear to have found the exit!”
