Another BTCC wedding
Colin Turkington isn't the only BTCC driver to have tied the knot during this year's summer break, as Rob Austin Racing's Hunter Abbott married his long term partner Susann on Saturday.
Hunter says: “I know Susann’s the girl for me – how many other brides would cut their honeymoon short so their husband can drive round in circles in the middle of Norfolk! Hopefully I’m going through something of a purple patch – the results at Croft, getting married… My dander’s definitely up going to Snetterton.
“Obviously Rob feels there’s a chance of another strong performance there so that’s exactly what I’m chasing, once I get into the new Snetterton layout which I’ve only done a few miles on in 2012. Croft was terrific and my focus is on going onward and upward.
"BTCC is a world-class field of drivers and as a result qualifying is key. I’ve shown I can carve through the field and set the times in the race but if I can get qualifying sorted it’d make the whole weekend so much easier! This is going to be my focus at Snett.
“Genuinely I feel the performance is there and that Rob and I together could be a real headache these next few rounds for the drivers pushing for the title. Rob is obviously looking to get well into the top 10 overall in the points table and I’d like to get myself into a position to join him up there by the end of the season.”
