Revelation Avenue: "we're so glad we got back together!"

Gospel singers Revelation Avenue brought Saturday's show to a spectacular close with their fresh spin on Katy Perry's hit song Roar.

But they weren't expecting what happened next: "it hasn't really hit us yet to be fair," says choir member Beatrice Awotayo of the group's golden buzzer success.

"I just saw confetti everywhere, but not everyone in the group knew what the golden buzzer meant. We realised it must be something pretty good when Amanda joined us on stage though!"

Amanda's in perfect harmony with Revelation Avenue

Half of the 12-piece group originally met at school in East London where they sang in a large gospel choir, but they only recently regrouped and revamped their current line-up after a three-year hiatus.

"Many of us were still singing in church, but I decided to make some calls and see if we could get the group going again," explains Beatrice.

"There's something about choral harmonies that really touches people. But there was no plan, we just love singing!

"Getting the golden buzzer on Saturday was the icing on the cake."

But there's no time to rest on their laurels. With a place booked in the semi-finals at the end of May, Revelation are already hard at work on their next performance.

"We've got a couple of songs on the shortlist," reveals Beatrice. "But that's all we're saying at the moment!

"We're not your typical choir, so we want to put our Revelation stamp on whatever we do. For our next performance we want to do something that appeals to all ages and inspire everyone."

Britain's Got Talent returns to ITV with even more fantastic acts next Saturday.
