Simon teases David bromance: "He did a lap dance on the desk"
With the new series of BGT just days away, Simon Cowell has teased that fans can expect more flirtatious behaviour from his No.1 fan, fellow Judge David Walliams.
And, while Simon compares his feelings to the love you have for your auntie’s dog, it seems David is still very much Team Cowell.
Speaking of their bromance, Simon revealed: “I’ve just got to the point now, genuinely, where it’s like having your auntie’s dog, who’s getting on a bit, around you. You go round for tea and the dog starts humping your leg. The first couple of years it’s like, ‘Can you please not hump my leg?’, after the third or fourth you’re like, ‘Just get it over with’, and that’s kind of how I feel about David right now.
“I don’t know which version of David is going to turn up. I have to say though, he’s so much fun because he’s so spoilt and needy! He needs so much attention it’s almost like watching a second show when he’s there. I really do like him, he makes me laugh. He’s so annoying at times but it’s more fun than not.”
Recalling on of those funny David moments, Simon said: “He did a lap dance on the desk, thank God I didn’t see... it, or I would be in therapy right now! That’s David though, it’s what he does. I’m just used to it by now! The first year it was a bit weird, but now I’ve realised that the more you say no, the more he does it. I just don’t say anything, as long as we can get the show made, I’m happy!”
Aside from David, Simon also went on to reveal that we might be seeing more of his son Eric on the BGT panel in the future: “He does enjoy coming down to auditions. The first time I brought him to Britain’s Got Talent he thought it was scary because of the big red Xs, but then after a few months I said, ‘What does Daddy do when he goes to work?’ and he said I pressed buttons - it’s a little more than that!
“Now, he understands the show so I watch him and I’m like, ‘Eric do you like it? Don’t you like it?’. He’s got a really good eye and ear for it, so yes, he’s going to be doing this one day”, before adding: “Of course he disagrees with me! He's so funny though, he cracks me up!”
You can catch more from Simon when BGT returns to ITV this Saturday, 15th April, at 8pm!
