Lucy Kay bully says sorry after Saturday’s show
Opera singer Lucy Kay has revealed one of her childhood bullies has apologised for making her life miserable.
The brave 24-year-old opera singer spoke openly about her ordeal on Saturday’s Britain’s Got Talent before wowing the Judges with her powerful performance.
Speaking on Daybreak this morning she explained that she had been contacted by one of her tormenters after the show.
“One did (get in touch) and said, ‘I wish I had treated you better. I’m sorry and you did us all proud,’ “ Lucy said.
“I said thank you back because I don’t hate anyone for what they did. They actually helped me get to where I am today.”
Lucy explained that she had been so frank about her past struggles because she wanted to show other people in a similar situation that there was a, “light at the end of the tunnel.”
She received a standing ovation for her rendition of Puccini’s Vissi d’arte. After her audition Simon said: “Today’s the day to forget about those people for the rest of your life.”
Speaking about the reaction from the Judges’ to her performance, she said: “Words cannot describe it. It was just fantastic. I cried.”
