Interview: Tonight's guest artist Ed Sheeran
Double Brit Award winning artist Ed Sheeran is performing his new single Sing on tonight's second semi-final show.
We caught up with him backstage to grab some last minute advice for this year’s semi-finalists and to find out how he prepares for a big gig.
“Be yourself.” he said. “This is a competition where the more individual you are, the more you shine through. If you try and be someone you’re not, people will see straight through you.”
“My dad is the person I take advice from. He’s an intelligent dude.”
The singer songwriter returns to the BGT stage following up on a storming set dueting with Taylor Swift during the 2013 Final.
“I don’t get nervous before a performance,” Ed explained. “I’ve been on BGT before so I’m comfortable.
“All I do to prepare is drink a lot of water.”
New track Sing was produced by Pharrell Williams and is taken Ed's second studio album X.
