Bars and Melody smash America appearing on The Ellen Show!
Simon’s Golden Buzzer act appeared in front of American audiences today on hit daytime chat show The Ellen Degeneres Show.
It was the teenage singers Bars and Melody first visit to the States and they kept a cool head during most of the interview although 13-year-old Leondre couldn't resist a little outburst.
He told the chat show queen: “I’m so excited I think I’m going to cry.”
Ellen replied: "I’m excited too. I saw this video and I was like these guys are amazing.”
The boys bonded with Oscar host Ellen over Tupac, writing and their BGT performance.
Leondre explained what inspired him to write saying: “Since primary school I was heavily bullied. I used to move school a lot and I didn’t know how to break free so I started writing poems.
“One day I listened to a beat and I starting writing a poem and it turned into a song. I listened to a lot of Tupac and that developed my style.”
“I love Tupac as well,” Ellen said. “I’m so happy for you. I’m proud of you.
“I used to write when I was lost when I was younger. It’s so cathartic."
The boys didn't leave empty handed. Ellen surprised the boys with customised varsity jackets and trainers prompting Leondre to exclaim: “Ellen, you’re the most amazing woman ever!”
