Remembering Cecil one year on
On 1 July last year the world was stunned with the news that 13-year-old Cecil the Lion had been shot dead in Zimbabwe by Walter Palmer, a dentist from Minneapolis in America.
Palmer reportedly paid $55,000 to wildlife guides to allow him to shoot Cecil with a crossbow. Cecil - a cherished and iconic lion in Zimbabwe - was found beheaded and skinned near Hwange National Park where he was head of his pride.
Now one year on, we speak to Virginia McKenna OBE, founder of the Born Free Foundation, who talks to us about Cecil's legacy, while we also hear from hunter Olivia Opre, who says being killed by a hunter is the most humane way for an animal to die.
