Being transgender is not a choice for my son

I just felt incredibly sad. I thought - what kind of world is my son going to grow up in?

Yesterday we met Nigel and Sally Rowe, who removed their six-year-old son from school because another child in his class wanted to be recognised as transgender. Their story certainly got you talking - and has continued to do that today.

This morning, we’ll be hearing from Mienna Jones, the mother of six-year-old Dexter, who since the age of just two has identified as a boy.

All the kids were fine, the parents have all been really supportive, apart from the odd comment we’ve had so much support and love. It’s been amazing.

Mienna was outraged by the comments made by Nigel and Sally here on the sofa yesterday and today she has her say. Alongside her is Susie Green from the transgender charity Mermaid.
