Dr Zoe Laughlin
Dr Zoe says: I love stuff; the materials that make up the world around us and the tools and processes that shape them. Over the last 10 years I have been collecting, investigating and celebrating some of the most wondrous matter on earth and the things that these materials can do. As co-founder and creative director of the Institute of Making, I work at the interface of art, craft, design, science and engineering.
I'm best known for: Messing about with materials
The proudest moment of my career was: When I was invited to California to meet Sir Jonathan Ive and the design team at Apple to talk about materials. It was like being asked to have a kick about with Manchester United even though you only play football in the back garden.
The first thing I do in the morning is: Give myself an extra 10 minutes in bed listening to the news on the radio
My favourite breakfast is: Avocado and marmite on granary toast. Don't knock it 'till you've tried it.
The most famous person in my phonebook is: Schofe follows me on Twitter, does that count?
The actor who would play me in a film about This Morning is: Dustin Hoffman
My favourite memory from working on This Morning is: How kind, enthusiastic and supportive the This Morning team is. Also, when Barry Gibb was on after me, I got to stand behind the camera and watch him sing and play his guitar. It was fantastically moving and only topped when Sue Hill and I shared the lift with him on the way out, for whilst confined in the lift, Sue burst into song, serenading Barry with her rendition of Islands in the Stream.
If I wasn’t featuring on This Morning, I’d be: Back at the day job coming up with plans for the world's greatest crazy golf course
You’d be surprised to learn that: I know all the words to all the songs in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat
The one thing I couldn't live without is: Pen and paper
