Police appeal following racial abuse in Plymouth

Police have released the image of a man they wish to identify, following reports of racial abuse against Muslims in Plymouth. It is alleged that two men were near the Plymouth Islamic Education Trust in Greenbank Avenue, St Judes at 00.45am on Sunday 12th June 2016 and subjected a number of the members, including women and children to racial abuse as they left the premises.

One man, aged 45 from Crownhill, Plymouth, was arrested at the scene and has since been bailed until 8th July pending further enquiries.

The second man left the area prior to police arriving and is described as white, 5ft 6-8” tall, chubby build, 35-45 years of age with local accent. He was wearing a baseball cap and shorts and dark clothing, and is believed to be local to the St. Judes and Lipson area as he was walking his small brown dog during the time the incident took place.
