Meet Plymouth's mischievous sharks

Sharks have gained themselves a bad reputation in recent years, striking fear into people around the world at the simple sight of a dorsal fin. But staff at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth say their two resident sand tiger sharks defy this theory,

Howard and Enzo are the aquarium’s largest sharks, and despite their fearsome appearance, they're very docile - and quite mischievous.

“Howie and Enzo are two of our best loved sharks. The somewhat off-putting appearance and size of sand tiger sharks can make them appear more deadly than they actually are, but Howie and Enzo’s quirky personalities shine through.

"The team has formed a strong bond with the pair over the 17 years they’ve been with us here at the National Marine Aquarium, and they continue to be a big hit with our visitors.”
