Hay bales go pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

If you are travelling through Dorset, you may have noticed giant pink bales have started to appear across farmland in the county. Our presenter Ian Axton certainly has - he posted this photo of the phenomenon earlier this month.

Well it turns out it is all part of a campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer charities.

It's the brainchild of Hogleaze Haylage boss Chris Roberts.

It’s great to see agriculture supporting this worthy cause and we are only too happy to be part of it. The bales are generating interest on Facebook and we have received a lot of support. Please keep your eyes open for them, upload your pictures online and keep donating!”

The firm has videoed the hay bale wrapping process - we think it's well worth a watch:

The pink haylage bales will be sold to horse yards, stables, farmers, events organisers and others.

Anyone buying them will be encouraged to make a contribution to Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Breast Cancer Campaign.
