10th anniversary of the Boscastle floods

It's ten years since the north Cornwall village of Boscastle was devastated by flooding.

In case you missed it, here's our special programme which looks back at that fateful day on August 16th 2004, and how the village - and livelihoods - were rebuilt.

The Boscastle Buoys performed on the Harbour earlier to mark the anniversary.

Homes and businesses were destroyed and 100 people had to be rescued as a month's rain fell in just two hours, with the images being shown around the world.

John Acornley's film takes viewers through the full story of the Boscastle flash flooding - from a torrent running down the main street, to the eventual destruction of nearby buildings.

Ten years on from the Boscastle floods, ITV News West Country has been speaking to villagers and rescue teams that worked tirelessly to prevent any loss of life - to hear in their words what happened on that day:

This weekend marks the tenth anniversary of the devastating floods at Boscastle in which dozens of homes and businesses were destroyed.
