Exeter War Memorial Unveiled

A memorial to service personnel from Exeter who have died in active service will be officially unveiled in the city today.

The tablet in Northernhay Gardens will display names of those who've died since the Second World War to the present day.

A memorial to service personnel from Exeter who have died in active service will be officially unveiled in the city today.

The tablet in Northernhay Gardens will display names of those who've died since the Second World War to the present day.

The unveiling will be carried out at 10.30am by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Cllr Rob Newby, and the Commander Joint Forces Command, Air Chief Marshall Sir Stuart Peach KCB, CBE, FRAeS.

Other local civic and military dignitaries will be in attendance. These include the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Devon, the Bishop of Exeter, the Vice Chancellor of Exeter University and representatives from the battalions and regiments in which the fallen servicemen had served.
