Cornwall's first free school opens today
Cornwall's first free school opens today in Camborne. St. Michael's Catholic Secondary has been funded by four and a half million pounds from the Government.
Opponents say the money should be used for existing schools in Cornwall. The first intake of sixty pupils are expected to start today. The school used to be a private school in Truro, funded by donations from parents.
Teaching union criticises Cornwall's first free school
The school opens tomorrow in Camborne. A teaching union says the four and a half million pounds of Government funding invested should have been spent on other schools in the area. Cornwall correspondent Steve Hardy reports.
