Car fire on A4174 closes main Bristol commuter road

A main commuter road in Bristol had to be closed after a car fire this morning (14 July).

The southbound carriageway on the A4174 Ring Road was closed between the Hicks Gate and Kingsfield roundabouts.

A number of emergency service vehicles were called to the scene including Avon and Somerset Police and crews from Avon Fire and Rescue Service.

The road has since reopened.
