Body found on cycle path in Cheltenham town centre

A body has been found on a cycle path in Cheltenham.

Gloucestershire Police say they were called shortly after 10.20am today (December 1) after the discovery of the body on the Honeybourne Line.

A cordon remains in place at the scene - which is close to the Waitrose in the centre of Cheltenham - while investigations are carried out.

The cause of the person's death remains unknown.

A police spokesperson said: "Investigations are at an early stage while detectives determine the circumstances surrounding the death."
