Bristol woman plans funeral for her husband after just 13 hours of marriage
A Bristol woman has told ITV News of her grief at having to plan her husband's funeral - after just 13 hours of marriage.
Michelle Plumley's partner, Scott, was diagnosed with cancer on Monday 13th August and they planned their wedding in less than a day.
The couple were married at Southmead Hospital on Wednesday 15th August, just hours before Scott died.
41-year-old Scott Plumley complained of stomach pains two months ago.
When specialists investigated they gave the couple the news that Scott had cancer of the esophagus, liver and kidneys.
They pair had been together for two years, and were engaged, but following the diagnosis they arranged their wedding in one day.
With the help of family, friends and neighbours, 32-year-old care worker Michelle arranged a dress, flowers, a cake and a registrar.
Scott passed away in Michelle's arms on their wedding night.
Michelle is now being supported by Scott's sister who has experienced a battle with cancer herself.
She was given the all-clear by doctors on the same day her brother was diagnosed.
Michelle now has to plan a funeral for her husband, most of which has been paid for by online donations.
