Murder investigation begins after hit and run in Burnham-On-Sea

A murder investigation has begun in Burnham-On-Sea after a woman died following a hit and run.

A member of the public found her in the road and called the police in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Initial post-mortem examination findings suggest the woman, believed to be in her thirties, died from a head injury.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with any information to call 101, especially motorists who have dash cams and were driving in the area at the time.
