Cornwall celebrating 80 years of flights between Land's End and Scillies

Celebrations took place in Cornwall today to honour 80 years of flights from Land's End to the Isles of Scilly.

There was a special fly past over the area, as a classic 1940s Dragon Rapide took to the skies.

IOS Travel which operates the service organised the event.

Some people who attended the event shared their excitement on social media.

The first flight from Land’s End Airport to Scilly left on September 15th, 1937.
