Eight people rescued after their boat gets stuck in mud flats in Devon

Emergency services rescued eight people, including a three-year-old girl, from mud flats in Kingsbridge, Devon, after their boat became stuck.

Teignmouth and Prawle Point Coastguard Rescue Teams spent several hours using sleds to pull the trapped families back over the mud.Their boat had got stuck due to an engine failure.

Everyone was safely rescued, with fire crews turning up later on that day, Thursday 24 August, to hose everyone involved down.
