After almost three years at sea, HMS Enterprise returned to UK waters today.

Friends and family were eagerly waiting in Plymouth to be reunited with the Royal Navy crew on board.

During the ship's 35-month deployment she's been on maritime security operations and rescuing those in dangerous situations.

Enterprise was at the centre of naval operations to stop people smuggling in the Mediterranean and helped secure trade in the Gulf.

During her 35-month voyage, the vessel visited 20 countries and navigated four of the seven seas while protecting UK economic interests overseas.

But there's not much time to rest for the ship; HMS Enterprise sails out again in July.
