Final Broadchurch episode pulls in biggest ever audience
The final ever episode of Broadchurch saw the series pull in its biggest ever audience.
8.7 million people tuned into ITV on Monday night to watch the last instalment of the hit drama and find out who raped Trish Winterman.
It's the most people who've ever watch the show - beating the series one finale in 2013 of 8.6 million.
The audience for the eighth and last episode in the series gave ITV a 36% share and at one point viewing figures peaked at 9.3 million.
Viewers took to social media after the final instalment, talking of their shock that Trish Winterman's rapist was revealed to be 16-year-old MichaelLucas.
It was a twist that most didn't see coming - with many suspecting Jim Atwood (Mark Bazeley) or Ed Burnett (Sir Lenny Henry). An emotional episode that also brought the Latimer's story to a heart-breaking close.
