Plymouth Albion confirm staff redundancies

Plymouth Albion Rugby Club has confirmed that they have served non-playing staff at Brickfields redundancy notice.

ITV West Country understands that staff were told two weeks ago, and that recently appointed managing director, Michael Dunford, has resigned from his position after just six weeks with the club.

The National League Division 1 side issued us with the following explanation:

"It is a restructuring exercise, and it's very normal in a business that has gone into administration with staff TUPE'd over. "

Former players and local Devon businessmen Bruce Priday and David Venables took over the financially stricken club in April last year after it went into administration.

Albion were relegated from the Championship at the end of the 2014-15 season. They currently sit second in National League Division 1.
