Train carrying more than 200 passengers splits in two just outside Bristol

A train carrying more than 200 passengers has split in two just outside Bristol after the leading powercar became separated from the rest of the train.

Train operator CrossCountry confirmed the incident happened just outside Bristol Temple Meads on Monday afternoon.

A 14ft gap developed between the leading powercar and the rest of the train on which there were more than 200 passengers.
