Huge fire rips through caravan centre
Firefighters from across Bristol and Somerset have spent the night tackling a huge fire at a caravan centre which caused a series of explosions.
The fire broke out at around 1:30am at the Highbridge Caravan Centre on Bristol Road - it spread quickly as caravans and the gas cylinders with them caught light.
Fire engines were mobilised from Burnham On Sea, Bridgwater, Taunton, Cheddar and Street.
Over the course of the night more than 60 people phoned the emergency services to report hearing explosions.
More fire engines were mobilised, along with aerial platforms to try to bring the blaze under control.
By 4am emergency services had broken the site into sections with different crews tackling the fire from different angles.
Nobody was injured, but emergency services remained at the scene to dampen down the site.
The cause is yet to be determined.
