Swindon Town to charge fans for tickets to re-arranged match despite abandonment last week
Fans have reacted with anger after Swindon Town confirmed they will charge supporters full price for their rearranged fixture with Bristol Rovers despite their first match being abandoned.
On Saturday the match between the two teams was stopped because of a waterlogged pitch after torrential rain fell at the County Ground.
Now fans will have to pay again to attend the encounter on the evening of Tuesday September 20.
Swindon Town said the club still had to cover match-day costs as they would for any other home game.
Bristol Rovers said high policing costs had been to blame for the decision to charge home and away supporters full price.
Refunds will also not be available for those who attended the abandoned game on Saturday, despite fans being told to keep their stubs.
A petition has also been set up online to show anger towards Swindon Town's decision. It has been signed 138 times.
