To plume or not to plume that is the question! By Kate Haskell

Rumours have been flying around that we may see a Spanish Plume arriving over the UK in the next week or so. >Firstly, what is a Spanish Plume?

Well, it's when warm air from Iberia moves northwards and as it hits the cold air from the Atlantic it causes the warm air to rise very quickly which can spark off some very heavy and thundery downpours.>As to whether this is going to happen for us the short answer is...no!

However we are expecting warm and humid air to arrive at the end of the week but this will come in from the south west and not the south. >For those that have struggled in the recent muggy weather there is some relief with a little fresher air mid week as winds swing around to the northwest before we return to the humid conditions at the weekend.
