Coldplay to play 'The Big Weekend' at Powderham Castle
Thousands of music fans are heading to Devon for one of the biggest festivals of the year.
Powderham Castle is the historic venue for Radio 1's Big Weekend. The line-up includes Jess Glynne, Craig David, Jake Bugg and two very famous acts with a local connection - Coldplay and Mumford and Sons.
Powderham Castle is the home of the Earl of Devon - Charlie Courtenay - who used to play with Chris Martin as a child. Now a global star, Chris will be returning to the grounds to headline the show.
The event has taken a considerable amount of setting up and one of the key elements is making sure everyone is safe.
Devon and Cornwall Police say they want everyone to have a good time but they advise concert-goers to follow these guidelines:
Keep personal belongings such as wallets, cameras and phones safe
Behave responsibly when it comes to drinking alcohol. Know your limits and stay with friends
People will be searched on entry to the site and anyone with illegal drugs or formerly legal highs will be ejected from the festival and may face police action.
Anyone travelling to the event without a ticket will not be allowed in
Stick with friends and don’t walk alone in darkness
Make sure no valuables are left inside your car and that it’s locked
