The West Country was waking up to storm damage this morning after a weekend of wild weather- including lightning storms and gale-force winds.

Tim Lowe had to take shelter himself when capturing this footage of flooding at St Mawes. The high waves crashing over the harbour wall meant he had to take cover behind a wall.

Elsewhere the wind had a lot to answer for - this man in Torcross had his windows blown through by an "amazingly" powerful wave:

The family had to move upstairs to escape from the lashing wind, but he says the community response was 'brilliant' - with many people spotting what had happened and calling in to check on everyone in the house.

People had to shelter upstairs after the storm took blew in their front window with the impact of a strong wave.

This video shows a pan of the damage at Torcross:

In Peston it was a beach hut which felt the force of mother nature.
