Bus evacuated in Bristol as fire breaks out

These were the dramatic scenes when a bus caught fire on the busy Bath Road in Bristol this morning. Around 15 passengers were on the 349 Abus service from Keynsham when they noticed a smell of smoke from the engine.

The driver halted the bus outside Paintworks and the passengers left safely before the engine caught fire. The vehicle was seriously damaged. The fire at around 10am led to serious traffic congestion in the area.
