Lorry fire causes delays in Swindon

A fire which destroyed a lorry caused a large plume of smoke over Swindon tonight and led to tailbacks on many roads in the town. The fire started in the lorry's cab, but the driver was able to escape unharmed and call emergency services.

Three crews including a water carrier put out the blaze.

The lorry was delivering car parts for the Honda factory at South Marston.
