Susan Boyle will be one of many performers taking part in the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics GB National Summer Games in Bath.

The Britain's Got Talent winner will perform after a huge cauldron is lit from the Special Olympics torch.

The event will take place at the famous Royal Crescent and organisers say it will involve the elements of every Olympic opening ceremony - including the athlete's parade and raising the Special Olympics flag.

Also appearing will be local comedy writers and performers Avent and Monie, film star Colin Salmon and British Jazz singer Clare Teal.

Boyle will be performing to a crowd of 7000 people, including 1,700 athletes taking part in the games.

The crowd will also be treated to a performance of the games official song 'Living the Dream', specially written by Clyve and Jon Birch.

The ceremony will take place on the 28th August.
