Extra trains promised to deal with 'unprecedented' scale of Champions League final

Extra trains will be put on to cope with the amount of people travelling out of Cardiff after the Champions League final in June.

Up to 21 extra trains, and 15,000 more passenger spaces, will be provided in order to avoid the long queues seen during other major sporting events in the city.

The scale of activity for the Champions League final is unprecedented and travel management logistics are on a different scale. Delivering the Champions League well will place us in a good position to bid for the final again.

We are therefore working with Network Rail and rail operators to ensure extra trains will be available to passengers after the Champions League final on June 3rd. Up to 21 extra trains and 15,000 more passenger spaces than at the Rugby World Cup will be provided to help accommodate the extra passengers expected to pass through Cardiff Central station.
