Neath road to reopen after sinkhole repaired

Cimla Road in Neath is due to be reopened later this evening. Police previously closed the main road after the discovery of a sinkhole at the bottom of the hill.

Neath Port Talbot Council workers used concrete and around 50 tonnes of stone to repair the sinkhole.

As soon as the hole was discovered on Friday morning the health and safety of the public was paramount, necessitating the immediate closure of that section of the road.

The road should be reopened by 6:00pm today which is good news for us all in the Cimla area that everything will be back to normal for the morning rush hour.

I would like to thank everybody for their patience and understanding while the road was closed for the repairs.
