Shocking footage shows dam overflowing in the Elan Valley

The true force of yesterday's severe weather is shown in a video where water is seen bursting over a dam in the Elan Valley.

The footage of Caban Coch Dam was shot yesterday by Maddie Ottaway.

Heavy rain has seen devastating floods in parts of north Wales and northern England, causing distress for many over the Christmas period.

There are currently four flood warnings in Wales, three of which are along the River Dee.

Natural Resources Wales say more rain is expected over the next few days.
