Major coastal search for missing west Wales pensioner

A major search has been launched along the Cardigan Bay coast for a missing 73-year-old woman.

Dyfed-Powys Police says Myfanwy Horton, from Cilgerran in Ceredigion, was last seen at the View Point, Cliff Hotel in Gwbert at around 5pm on Saturday 5 September.

Police, HM Coastguard, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Western Mountain Rescue team and local volunteers are all part of the search, which involved a rescue helicopter.

Mrs Horton is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, of medium build, with dark coloured hair.

She is wearing metal rimmed glasses, a baseball cap, black trousers, a three quarter length light green coat and flat plimsoll shoes.

She was last seen carrying an extendable walking stick and a leather effect black handbag.
