Driver throws away parking fine - gets a second fine for littering

A motorist who threw his parking fine out of the car window ended up getting a second fine for littering.

The driver was issued a parking fine for breaking parking regulations in a car park in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. A witness saw him throw the ticket out of his car while he was driving and decided to report him to the council.

He has now been issued a fixed penalty notice for £75 for the litter offence in addition to the original parking fine.

I hope this sends out the message that people cannot get away with breaking the law in this way. The man thought he could get away with avoiding a fine for the parking offence by throwing the ticket away; but now he has incurred a further ticket for dropping litter.

It is the second time in three months that a motorist in Carmarthenshire has been fined for throwing away their parking fine notice.
