A woman has been reunited with her husband's dog after it was caged in rabies quarantine when he died on their yacht.

Jane launched a campaign to free him after hearing that he had been put into quarantine over fears he could have rabies.

The 17-year-old Jack Russell-Cairn terrier has now been released after spending two months caged.

We are just so relieved to have him back - we were worried he would die in quarantine.

Buttons was filthy dirty when he came home, he has worn away his elbows and his magnificent beard from lying on concrete.

He's had a very big bath and he's a bit happier, but very clingy and sad and he hasn't made a sound. I'm just hoping that by the end of the week we might see his tail wag.
