The roof at the Millennium Stadium for Friday's RBS Six Nations match between Wales and England is to be left open.

Both teams must agree for it to be closed and while Wales stated that is their preference, the Rugby Football Union has told Press Association Sport that England have taken a different view.

The weather forecast for Cardiff on Friday night is cold but dry, convincing visiting head coach Stuart Lancaster to have it kept open.

It is understood England will also have one eye on the looming World Cup, where they will play all their matches in stadiums without roofs.
